This

you are not careful.
Use
your mouse to slide and roll for a very
interesting full tour of the Sistine Chapel.
This virtual tour of the Sistine Chapel is
incredible - apparently done by Villanova at the
request of the Vatican .

On
Saturday, December 4th, a group of
longtime and new Urantia Book readers met at
Geri Johnson's home in Singapore for an all-day
study group. The topic was
"What is Effective Prayer?"
The group included Geri's regular study
group members and some guests from far
away. Steve and I were there
and Bill Tuffin flew down from Northern Thailand
to join us.
We
gathered early for Bali coffee and delicious
pastries and enjoyed some time getting to know
each other. At 10 AM
the study group began with readings and a
discussion of various aspects of
prayer. Although we a focused
on Paper 91, "The Evolution of Prayer," we let
the Spirit of Truth guide our discussion and
enjoyed the readings and the sharing of personal
experience.
For lunch
Geri treated us all to a belated Thanksgiving
feast including turkey, stuffing, gravy,
cranberry sauce, candied sweet potatoes,
broccoli au gratin and pumpkin and apple
pies. Steve and I were on the
other side of the planet, one degree north of
the equator, but it felt like home.
In the
afternoon we continued the study with questions
and answers about the concept of prayer in The
Urantia Book. It was a
beautiful day and we all had a profound feeling
of thankfulness for our gracious hostess and our
many blessings, among which are the treasures of
renewing old relationships and making new
ones.

The Urantia Book
Fellowship Announces
CALLING ALL ARTISTS AND
GRAPHIC DESIGNERS
The
Urantia Book Cover Contest
Uversa
Press, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Urantia
Book Fellowship, is embarking on a program to
create a new cover for its two column,
indexed version of The Urantia Book. The Uversa
Press Committee is going to use the same method
for choosing a cover as was used in choosing the
Fellowship's logo several years ago. Basically,
this is a contest for any and all artists who
wish to design the new cover for the Uversa
Press Urantia Book. All cover
design entries will be voted on by the General
Council and eventually culled down to three
finalists. The final three designs will then be
voted on by the entire membership to determine
the winner.
The
timeline we are shooting for will give us a
finished product by the end of this summer, in
time to be used for our upcoming 4th printing.
All entries must
be submitted by May 15,
2011.
Ideally,
the cover should be free of iconic religious
images, so it can appeal to all peoples of all
races and all faiths.
Therefore, our main
emphasis is being focused on a color scheme and
graphic design that will grab a shopper's
attention at the bookshelf, where usually only
the spine of a book is facing outward. The idea
is to get folks to pick up the book and take a
look at it while browsing the shelf. It should
be strong yet peaceful, commanding yet loving,
bold yet simple.
Most of the
written information on the Fellowship's present
edition of The Urantia Book will remain on the
next printing, although the wording, font and
layout may differ somewhat.
Although
our funds are quite limited and this is really a
labor of love, we will be able to award
$1,000 for the top three finalists and
an additional $2,000 for the cover that
is chosen to be used on the next
printing.
If you are
interested in submitting a design for the new
cover whether it is yours or someone else's,
please contact any of these members of the
Uversa Press Committee and we'll be happy to go
over the particulars and send you the guidelines
and ground rules.

Lifeandteachingsofjesus.org
Preston Thomas
I am announcing a new
web site, www.lifeandteachingsofjesus.org. It contains the
recently completed third edition of my
book, The Life and Teachings of
Jesus.
Larry
Watkins along with my son Joshua and I have
worked hard the last year to make it the
best site we can. We have made it a top
site for Google searches relating to Jesus. It
already comes up at #10 (out of 5 million
results) on Google search for teachings of
Jesus!
This is an ideal site
for Jesus study. Here, collected
in one place, are all the original teachings of
Jesus as recorded in the Bible, and here also is
his life, presented as it actually
unfolded. It is simple, clear, and very
easy to navigate. Every effort has been made to
make as user friendly as possible. It has a
search capability so you can easily find what
Jesus said regarding any topic e.g.
"forgiveness". It also contains a
myriad of links. For example, every verse is
linked to its appearance in the Bible. Each
page is printer friendly and the entire book may
be easily printed with several mouse
clicks.
It
is an ideal resource and teaching tool
for Sunday School and Bible study. It is
especially well-suited to ministers teaching
about Jesus. Readers have reported enthusiastic
response when it is used in Sunday School
classes. And there are pastors from India who
have discovered this site, translated
it into their native language of Telugu,
and are distributing tracts to the
people.
I hope you will find it
useful.
You
may contribute directly to this new expansion of
the religion of Jesus by linking to
this site. One of the primary ways google
advances a site's ranking is by the number of
other sites that are linked to it. So if you
have any way of linking to this site it would
contribute directly to our goal of making it the
number one site for Jesus searches. Your help is
most
appreciated.

A
Salute to Truthbook.com
As
of late last year, our friends at Truthbook.com
have either commissioned or obtained 17
paintings that depict the life and teachings of
Jesus as portrayed in The Urantia Book. By the
close of 2011 they expect to have at least 20
paintings in the collection. The one painting
below was recently completed and depicts the
scene of Jesus ministering to Ganid during a
severe illness, while father Gonad looks on.
They envision that someday this collection will
be in a museum where people can view the
paintings and put a head set on to hear the
exact scenes being read from The Urantia
Book, and when possible, the New
Testament.

already, we highly recommend that you sign up
for Truthbook's free subscription Quote of the
Day . Upon subscribing, you will receive
in your email
each morning an inspiring and meaningful quote
from The Urantia Book paired with a beautiful
image.
"The time is ripe to
witness the figurative resurrection of the human
Jesus from his burial tomb amidst the
theological traditions and the religious dogmas
of nineteen centuries. Jesus of Nazareth must
not be longer sacrificed to even the splendid
concept of the glorified Christ. What a
transcendent service if, through this
revelation, the Son of Man should be recovered
from the tomb of traditional theology and be
presented as the living Jesus to the church that
bears his name, and to all other religions!"

Pre-Conference Retreat
Contemplative
Mercy
July
24-26
The focus
of this summer's Pre-Conference Contemplative
Prayer Retreat in Salt Lake City will be mercy
and forgiveness. The retreat
will begin with dinner on Sunday, July 24th and
end with a closing meditation before dinner on
Tuesday, July 26th.
Contemplative
prayer is another way of understanding worship -
the inward communion of the soul with the divine
source of all Reality. Out of
that experience emerges a quality of love - and
mercy is "love applied."
During the retreat we will share in the
experience of contemplative prayer and engage in
a conversation about the application of that
love.
Join Gard
Jameson and friends as we explore these topics
and practical ways of dealing with the anger,
the fear and the anxiety that stand between us
and the manifestation of mercy.
You can register for the Pre-Conference
Retreat at http://r20.rs6.net/tn.jsp?llr=mjk8e5cab&et=1104155682417&s=1755&e=001V_yoZL0QkPrDUHzOzv8bCcfHBLlHN_dlqwmRMoF9nuwjPYNQxYSmDEzjJxj1z0_H83Qle_keRpTLcPWtgSf1cHdy8QBQPB4QOlOsMvVFS-Y=.
The capacity of the retreat is 30
participants.
