Dear Customer,

Here is an extra opportunity for you--in fact, the ultimate holiday gift for someone--a great line-up of 1950s UFO books in often fine condition.  This will be sold as a collection only, and you have only until  3 P.M. Eastern U.S. time, Sunday, Nov. 28, to act on the offering.  Call, fax or e-mail, but make sure it's in by the deadline, because I won't extend it by a minute.  Exact shipping costs will be added to the lot.

                                     SPECIAL 1950s UFO COLLECTION

1.  Adamski & Leslie.  FLYING SAUCERS HAVE LANDED.  BBC, 1953.  1st prtg, front flyleaf affected by clipping once laid in, else VG in VG jacket, a beauty.

2.  _____.  SAME, 4th printing, just a very nice copy in beautiful jacket.

3.  Adamski.  INSIDE THE SPACE SHIPS.  1955, 1st edition, a pristine copy, fine with normal aging to materials employed,  in virtually perfect jacket, signed by Adamski

3A.  _____.  SAME.  ARCO, 1956.  HC, 1st UK ed.  This copy comes from Australia, where it graced a good library.  Top edge stained blue by owner, else VG+ in VG++ jacket, a beauty--and with 6 or 7 sometimes extensive original newsclippings re Adamski's 1956 visti to Australia & New Zealand

4.  _____.  FLYING SAUCERS FAREWELL.  1961, 1st ed., virtually fine in fine jacket, nice bright copy

5.  Allen, W. Gordon.  SPACE CRAFT FROM BEYOND THREE DIMENSIONS.  Exposition, 1959.  1st edition, VG+ in VG jacket

10.  Bender.  FLYING SAUCERS AND THE THREE MEN.  Saucerian, 1962.  1st ed.  , VG+ in fine jacket.  I know it's not strictly a '50s item but it's such great fun I figured it should be in the group.

11.  Bethurum.  ABOARD A FLYING SAUCER.  1954, 1st ed., good in sunned & somewhat worn jacket.  INSCRIBED BY BETHURUM, a nice long one to a fellow mechanic.

12.  _____.  THE VOICE OF THE PLANET CLARION.  Booklet, second edition, generally good, cover stock faded along edges, interior good.

13.  Cramp.  SPACE, GRAVITY AND THE FLYING SAUCER.  W. Laurie, 1954.  HC, 1st ed., good in worn jacket

14.  Crandall, Lee.  THE VENUSIANS.  New Age, 1956.  Thin softbound, 76pp, scarce, nice copy, clean cover, about fine

15.  Edwards, Frank.  MY FIRST 10,000,000 SPONSORS.  Ballantine, 1956.  Rare hardcover edition, printed on pulp paper, and therefore aging, but still VG for this, in full jacket, small tears at spine base & tips

16.  Fry.  THE WHITE SANDS INCIDENT.  New Age, 1954, good, will serve until a better one comes along.

17.  Gibbons.  THE COMING OF THE SPACE SHIPS.  Spearman, 1956.  HC, 1st ed., 2nd prtg., book appears just good due to some kind of chemical reaction working through to the outer cloth, but this is hidden behind a nearly perfect jacket.

18.  _____.  THEY KNEW TOO MUCH ABOUT FLYING SAUCERS.  Spearman, 1957.  HC, 1st ed., VG, with owner label on flyleaf and discoloration where flyleaf and  pastedown meet.  Jacket is fine, with light soil to rear panel

19.  Girvan, W.  FLYING SAUCERS AND COMMON SENSE.  Citadel, 1956.  HC, 1st Am. ed., good in worn jacket.

20.  Girvin, Calvin.  THE NIGHT HAS A THOUSAND SAUCERS.  Understanding, 1958.  HC, 1st ed., AUTOGRAPHED BY AUTHOR.  VG in VG jacket, some light rubbing to extremities, and light soil to rear panel

21.  Grant, W. V.  MEN FROM THE MOON IN AMERICA.  Faith Clinic, no date.  Booklet, 32pp, VG, some silverfishing to right margin of front cover.

22.  _____.  MEN IN THE FLYING SAUCERS IDENTIFIED--NOT A MYSTERY!   Faith Clinic, no date.  Bklt, 32pp, VG, paper aging.

23.  Guieu, Jimmy.  FLYING SAUCERS COME FROM ANOTHER WORLD.  Hutchinson, 1956.  HC, 1st English ed.  The best copy I've seen, book is fine (top edge stained red by previous owner), in a gorgeous jacket (by itself the best jacket in all of UFO literature) with just a hint of smudging on rear panel.

24.  Heard.  THE RIDDLE OF THE FLYING SAUCERS.  Carroll & Nicholson, 1950.  HC, 1st ed., just a super copy, so tight it may never have been read, in fine jacket with just a touch of rubbing showing to extremities

28.  _____.  UFO AND THE BIBLE.  Citadel, 1956.  Good in good jacket.

29.  _____.  THE EXPANDING CASE FOR THE UFO.  Citadel, 1957.  HC, 1st ed., VG, slight corner bumps, jacket is very good too.

30.  Keyhoe.  THE FLYING SAUCERS ARE REAL.  Fawcett, 1950.  Super copy, square, virtually no imperfections, light aging to paper.  Museum piece!

31.  _____.  FLYING SAUCERS FROM OUTER SPACE.  Holt, 1953.  Stated first edition (printing).  Virtaully perfect copy, in 99.8% perfect jacket, just a sight to behold.

32.  _____.  FLYING SAUCERS TOP SECRET.  Putnam, 1960.  HC, 1st ed., just a tad out of the '50s but such a great copy in great jacket that it deserves to be in here.

33.  Kraspedon.  MY CONTACT WITH FLYING SAUCERS.  Saucerian, 1959.  HC, 1st Am. ed., fine in fine jacket, clean, bright, and MUCH scarcer than the usual Spearman editions.

34.  Layne, Meade.  FLYING DISCS: THE ETHER SHIP MYSTERY AND ITS SOLUTION.  B.S.R.A., 1950.  Stapled wraps, 36pp, first edition of this rare early piece, and a near-fine copy at that, just a little aging to edges.

35.  Menger.  FROM OUTER SPACE TO YOU.  Saucerian, 1959.  HC, 1st ed., Good ++ in Good ++ jacket, better than it sounds.

36.  Menzel.  FLYING SAUCERS.  Harvard Univ., 1953.  HC, 1st ed., VG in lightly to moderately worn jacket

37.  Michel, Aime.  THE TRUTH ABOUT FLYING SAUCERS.  R. Hale, 1957.  HC, 1st UK edition.  Fore-edge shows some foxing, the larger spots of which are visible on the inner margins, and the top edge was stained blue by owner, but the jacket is fine, and it has a full-page illustration of the famous Oloron (1952) case (where the U.S. edition has only a part-page picture).  Better than it sounds

38.  _____.  FLYING SAUCERS AND THE STRAIGHT-LINE MYSTERY.  S. G. Philips, 1958.  HC, 1st Am. ed.  Gorgeous copy, fine +, jacket is 99+%, AND it has the rare folding map sometimes found in U.S. copies.  This book and the Jimmy Guieu are worth the price of the whole collection!

39.   Miller, Will & Evelyn.  WE OF THE NEW DIMENSION.  The authors, 1959.  Thick Bklt, 115pp, INSCRIBED (by both, but probably written by Evelyn), VG copy, little toning to cover at spine.

40.  Miller, Max.  FLYING SAUCERS FACT OR FICTION?  Trend, 1957.  No. 145.  Fair copy, reader, quite worn, good filler until the real thing comes along

41.  Ruppelt.  THE REPORT ON UNIDENTIFIED FLYING OBJECTS.  V. Gollancz, 1956.  HC, 2nd prtg, good in VG full jacket, moderate spine lean, still a nice offbeat version of this classic

42.  _____.  THE REPORT ON UNIDENTIFIED FLYING OBJECTS (Enlarged Edition).  Doubleday, 1959.  HC, good in good jacket, spine ends scraped & chipped, edgewear elsewhere

43.  Scully.  BEHIND THE FLYING SAUCERS.  Holt, 1950.  HC, stated first printing.  VG in jacket which is chunked & scraped at spine ends, corners & joints.

44.  Thomas, Franklin.  WE COME IN PEACE!  New Age, 1955.  Bklt, 53pp, near-pristine copy, a beauty

45.  Unger, Georg.  FLYING SAUCERS: PHYSICAL AND SPIRITUAL ASPECTS.  New Knowledge, 1958.  Reader, physically solid, but front cover discollered by uneven exposure to air, light soil to rear cover

46.  Van Tassel.  INTO THIS WORLD AND OUT AGAIN.  The author, 1956.  Thin softbound, 94pp.  The author typed underlining to parts of the text, but a previous owner helped out with some underlining in green of his own.  Good reader until you can upgrade this very scarce title

47.  _____.  THE COUNCIL OF SEVEN LIGHTS.  DeVorss, 1958.  HC, 1st ed., VG in VG jacket, text block is clean & unusually bright.

48.  Wilkins.  FLYING SAUCERS ON THE MOON.  Peter Owen, 1954.  HC, 1st ed., 329pp, book is VG (about as good as it's going to be, given the materials used), with discolored strip (unavoidable) where flyleaf & pastedown meet.Top edge bit dusty. Jacket is moderately and evenly dusted or soiled, spine darkened noticeably, still a good copy of the original version of one of the best UFO books written.

49.  _____.  FLYING SAUCERS ON THE ATTACK.  Citadel, 1954.  HC, 1st Am. ed.  Fine for this, except for discoloration to front fly & endpaper where home-made (probably brown paper lunchbag, like kids used to make for their schoolbooks) wrapper was taped down.  Edges show browning or nicotining.  Jacket is a beauty, very lightly abraded at spine ends.  Despite all, a superior copy of this book, which rarely preserves well

50.  _____.  FLYING SAUCERS UNCENSORED.  Citadel, 1955.  HC, 1st ed.  Book is just good, with heavy edgewear to bottom.  Jacket is very good--itself a big plus on this fragile book.

51.  Williamson, George Hunt.  THE SAUCERS SPEAK.  New Age, 1954.  Softbound, 127pp, lacks its jacket and is faded to drab along edges, still good reader of a classic saucer title

52.  _____.  OTHER TONGUES, OTHER FLESH.  Amherst, 1953 (1958).  HC, 1st ed., 448pp, in the nice mauve binding, fine, in a truly fine jacket with virtaully no visible imperfections.  Great day-one kind of copy

56.  _____ (as "Brother Philip").  SECRET OF THE ANDES.  Spearman, 1973 (1961).  HC, 7th prtg.  VG in VG jacket, some scuffing to front panel.  It's out of the '50s but included here for the sake of author completeness

THE PRICE OF THE LOT IS $3325.00.  I WILL FIND A FEW EXTRA '50S ITEMS TO INCLUDE WITH THE "OFFICIAL" LISTING, TO MAKE THE COLLECTION JUST THAT MUCH SWEETER.  REMEMBER, YOU HAVE UNTIL 3 P.M. EASTERN U.S. TIME, SUNDAY, NOV. 28, 2004 TO SPEAK FOR THIS COLLECTION.  OFFER WILL BE WITHDRAWN IMMEDIATELY THEREAFTER.  IF YOU CAN'T BUY IT, PLEASE ALERT WHATEVER UFO-FRIENDS YOU HAVE TO CHECK THIS OUT WHILE THERE IS STILL TIME LEFT.
